Roadrunner Venture Studios and the New Mexico Technology and Innovation Office (TIO) today cut the ribbon on the Roadrunner Quantum Lab, powered by the State of New Mexico, a shared facility giving quantum startups access to advanced

infrastructure, equipment and hands-on training.

Situated in Albuquerque’s Innovation District, the facility gives quantum

startups, industry partners and national laboratories a common space to test, develop and bring quantum technologies to market. The new facility includes a multi-node quantum network, dilution refrigerators, a quantum testbed, quantum demonstration facilities and lab space tailor-made for quantum information science. Paired with New Mexico’s national lab network and quantum-ready workforce, Roadrunner Quantum Lab gives resident companies a national launchpad. Nearly a dozen partners from public, private and academic sectors have signed on as tenants.

The lab’s opening is the latest step in a partnership that began just over a year ago, when the State of New Mexico selected Roadrunner Venture Studios and its coalition partners to establish and operate a quantum venture studio and dedicated quantum facility backed by $25 million in state support. Since then, the effort has grown to include a dedicated Company and Founder-in-Residence program, a capital network for New Mexico-based quantum startups, a quantum demonstration facility joint venture between Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories, and a $4 million strategic partnership with QuEra Computing to build out testbed infrastructure at the Roadrunner Quantum Lab.
